Reliance Jio Gigafiber new updates

Reliance Jio Gigafiber plans will start from Rs.700 and can go up to Rs.10,000. Revealed by RIL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani.

Reliance Jio Gigafiber, promising an optical fiber-based service that was announced the last year, a list of updates received from the 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Monday. 

This service which was rolled out by Reliance subsidiary Reliance Jio Gigafiber as a trial has now garnered over 15 million registrations from around 1,600 towns in less than a year, RIL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani revealed while the addressing attendees at the AGM. 

Based on the overwhelming early response for users. Jio Gigafiber is planned to reach over 20 million residences and 15 million business establishments from across the initial 1,600 towns.

AGM Ambani and his team have also underlined that apart from that delivering the fastest broadband speed from 100Mbps up to 1Gbps, Jio Gigafiber is set to offers Television services with Gaming, mixed reality and fixed-line voice calls access.

Jio Gigafiber plans and commercial launch date

Biggest announcement for consumers, that place at RIL 42nd AGM on Monday was the commercial launch of Jio Gigafiber. 

Mukesh Ambani at the meeting of AGM revealed that Reliance Jio is set to kick off the commercial launch of Jio Gigafiber in India on September 5. 

The beta trial(test) of the broadband access we're started back last year. but until now, the company didn't specify any details about how it will set to make Jio Giga fiber available against some big competitors like the ACT, Fibernet, Airtel and etc...

Mukesh Ambani during his AGM presentation at the meeting he suggests that while the offering was most initially know as Jio Gigafiber that supposed to bring Minimum speeds 100Mbps broadband access for consumers, it would be available as Jio Gigafiber, under which the most basic plan starts from 100Mbps speeds and go up to 1Gbps.

Jio Gigafiber welcome offer, prices

Jio Gigafiber's plans start from Rs. 700 and Rs. 10,000 per month to meet consumer's requirements.

To get attracted new customers, Jio Gigafiber's welcome offer will available. Reliance Jio is also set to give new offers like HD LED TV or 4K TV with the 4K set-top box for customers options for annual plans called Jio forever plan. More details still need to come.

Jio Home Phone connection

Mukesh Ambani at the AGM revealed that Jio Home Phone will be fixed-line service available with the high-speed broadband service to enable International calling with "Lowest fixed-line rates".

Currently existing Jio Giga fiber and for new Jio Giga fiber customers would be able to get voice call support through new service. 

Rather than the default tariffs of Jio Home Phone are touted to 1/10 of existing industry tariffs. Customers also get a dedicated unlimited international calling pack at Rs. 500/month to make calls in Canada & the US.

Jio Postpaid Plus

In addition to broadband and fixed-line. Jio Gigafiber customers will also get access to the Jio Postpaid Plus plan, which includes the priority SIM-setup service at the home. 

Jio Postpaid plus plan are said to provide a "Platinum-grade" experience, and will also get include "Unprecedented Family Plan", affordable for international roaming, and phone can upgrade at the "Preferential rates". 

More details about the tariffs plans under the Jio PostPaid plus service will available on September 5.

Jio Set-Top Box and Gaming Support

Jio Set-Top Box also will be available with the Jio Gigafiber for the customer to access the Television services is touted to deliver "Console" like gaming experience. Reliance Jio Director Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani demonstrated the major gaming capabilities of Jio Set-Top Box at the AGM event.

"This will be par with leading gaming platforms across global", asserted Akash Ambani, who played FIFA 19 on the stage to emphasize on the multiplayer supports on Jio Set-Top Box. 

This device also claimed to supported "Almost all gaming controllers" and can work with using a virtual controller through a smartphone. Also, it said to have built-in Graphics.

Jio Set-Top Box touted to enable gameplay of 4K and offers "Zero-latency gaming experience" through Jio Gigafiber network connection. Reliance Jio is also working with leading game publishers like Gameloft, Tencent, and Microsoft.

Jio MR and HoloBoard MR headset

Reliance Jio Directors Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani at the AGM event revealed that the Reliance Jio developments towards the growing world of mixed reality. 

The company has been investing in the startup tesseract to bring MR experiences through the Jio Giagfiber network connection. 

Executives majorly showcased 3 use cases, namely shopping, education, and entertainment. Jio Cinema app that would come with the preloaded on the Jio Set-top box also shown to offer theatre-like experiences on the MR headset.

Reliance Jio to collaborate with the Tesseract has also developed the Jio HoloBoard as a native MR headset. it could be touted to be available for purchase in the upcoming feature at an affordable price.

Bundled OTT apps subscription with Jio First-Day-First-Show service

Jio Giga fiber customers will set to receive bundled subscriptions to the "most leading premium OTT apps", Mukesh Ambani announced at AGM. The company is also set to offer a concept of offering new movies, Called "Jio First-Day-First-Show".

"Premium Jio Gigafiber customers will be able to enjoy movies in their living rooms same day these movies released in the theatres", said by Ambani during the AGM event.

Reliance Jio is also set to launch the Jio First-day-First-Show service in the middle of 2020.
